At the core, I'm a student of life. Always learning and growing and finding ways to help others help themselves. My own journey has taken me down many paths, experiencing a variety of ups and downs in this amazing life: love & heartache, combat & remorse, addiction & recovery, poverty & abundance, failure & success.
Over the years I've had many great teachers, and now I'm paying it forward in this time-honored tradition of sharing what I've learned with others. For more specific credentialing: I have a bachelor's degree in history and a Master of Fine Arts in creative nonfiction. I've been an academic coach and instructor at the University of Colorado Boulder; co-founder of the Veterans Writing Workshop at Colorado State University; editor-in-chief of two academic journals; facilitator of creative writing workshops with at-risk youth; and certified in neurolinguistic programming.
I'm also many years sober, well-versed in traditional and nontraditional healing modalities, a plant medicine advocate, a dedicated fitness and nutrition lover, and a believer in the unparalleled healing power of nature.
One of the gifts of my life's journey is the ability to relate to individuals from all walks of life, resulting in a deep love of humanity and all its unique expressions.
